Service Manager
Role & Responsibilities
• Manage and direct the workflow and safe operations of the repair & reconditioning activities in the workshop, vessels and at customer locations
• Monitor daily reports to ensure work in process and technician efficiency standards are met
• Establish work performance plans and standards for employees
• Ensure the proper repair & reconditioning of our customers’ diverse types of equipment
• Ensure safety procedures and guidelines are followed and corrective action taken to address any deficiencies
• Ensure general housekeeping is maintained to provide a hazard free work environment
• Manage administrative operations, through the business cycle (from initial customer contact to completing the repair, report generation and expediting invoicing)
Requirements
• Diploma or Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering
• Possess Class 2 Certificate of Competency or Class 3 with at least 5 years shipboard experience
• Wide knowledge of 2 stroke/4 stroke engines and other equipment found in the machinery space, ie, air compressors, purifiers, pumps, etc
• Must possess good organizational skills, resourceful, energetic and a great team player
• Able to lead team of engineers & technicians
• Class 3 driving license is required
• Possess good communication skills, both written and spoken in English
